MoneyDx
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
MoneyDx (“MoneyDx”, “we”, “us”) provides a personal and small-business money-management app — tracking shared expenses, loans, funds, savings, bills, budgets, birthdays and a private contact directory. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the MoneyDx mobile apps and the website at app.moneydx.com.
Information you provide
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, and a password (stored only as a salted hash — we never keep your plaintext password).
- Financial records you enter: expenses, splits and settlements, loans and repayments, fund contributions, savings plans, invoices, payments, budgets, recurring bills, and the categories and notes attached to them.
- People and reminders: members you add to expense groups and funds, contacts you save in your private directory (such as a doctor or accountant), and birthdays you track — including any photos you choose to attach.
- Notes and images: notes, receipts, and images you upload.
Sign in with Google
If you choose “Continue with Google”, we receive your Google account identifier, email address, name, and profile picture to create or link your MoneyDx account. We do not receive your Google password, and we request no access to your Gmail, Drive, or other Google services.
Device permissions we may request
The mobile app asks for these permissions only when a feature needs them. You can decline or revoke any of them in your device settings; the related feature simply won’t work until granted.
- Contacts: to let you pick people to add to groups, funds, or your directory. Contact data is used on your device for that selection; we store only the entries you choose to save.
- Camera & photos: to attach receipts, a profile picture, or photos to directory and birthday entries.
- Push notifications: to send reminders (for example, monthly summaries and upcoming bills). We store a device push token to deliver them, and remove it when it becomes invalid or you sign out.
- Biometric unlock: optional app lock using your device’s fingerprint or face unlock. This is handled entirely by your device — we never receive your biometric data.
- Region (no location access): to suggest the right phone-number format, we read your device’s time-zone and language settings to guess your country. This uses no location permission — we do not access, collect, or track your GPS or network location.
How we use your information
- To provide the app’s core features and keep your data in sync across devices.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To send transactional and reminder messages you enable — email, push notifications, and (where offered) SMS.
- To respond to support requests and to detect, prevent, and address abuse or fraud.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial data to target advertising.
How your information is shared
Your data is private to your account. We share it only in these limited ways:
- With people you choose: when you invite someone to an expense group or fund, or share an invite link, the relevant group details become visible to them.
- Service providers that operate the app on our behalf, under contract and only to provide their service:
- Google Cloud — hosting and database.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery.
- Google — “Sign in with Google” authentication (if you use it).
- Resend — sending account and reminder emails.
- Twilio — sending SMS verification codes, where that feature is enabled.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of MoneyDx and its users.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your data or your entire account from within the app; when you delete your account, we remove your personal and financial records, retaining only what we are legally required to keep or what is needed to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
To request deletion or a copy of your data, use the in-app controls or email us at hello@moneydx.com.
Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, connections are encrypted in transit over HTTPS, and access to production data is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what we collect to what the app needs.
Children
MoneyDx is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights through the app or by contacting us; we will respond in line with applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice.
